Certified NPO TOKYO NOVYI ART’s special Noh Theater performance “The Kojiki and the Tale of Genji,” part of the “The Beginning of a Nation, the Beginning of Culture” project, will run from Saturday, December 6, 2025, to Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Umewaka Nohgaku Academy Hall (2-6-14 Higashinakano, Nakano-ku, Tokyo). Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, at Confetti (operated by Long Run Planning Co., Ltd., Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Daigo Kurematsu). Tickets on sale at Confetti ​ Official website https://tokyo-novyi.com/ TOKYO NOVYI ART, a certified non-profit organization, was founded in 2004 by a group of actors who came together under the direction of Leonid Anisimov, an Honored Artist of Russia. Based on Anisimov’s Stanislavski System, we present carefully selected classic works that evoke intuitive creativity and genuine emotion. Our long-standing Noh stage performances began with “The Kojiki.” The original author, Toji Kamata, passed away in May of this year, and as a tribute, we are staging this work for the first time in seven years since our overseas performances. And then there’s “The Tale of Genji,” a lifelong dream. With the idea of ​​Otohiko Kaga, the libretto by Yuka Nakazawa, and the support of many others, the play has been well-received by audiences since its premiere last year and continues to be performed again. This simultaneous performance of two works, which can be considered monumental works for TOKYO NOVYI ART, is intended to awaken our genetic memories as Japanese people living in today’s rapidly changing world.
