Wakayama City Press Release: October 7, 2025 Bay of Poems Project, a Sacred Place for Waka Poetry Waka Summit 2025 (held on October 12th) ~ Bringing waka culture to the world! ~ In order to further foster the momentum that has grown as a “Sacred Land of Waka Poetry” following the Grand Festival Commemorating the 1,300th Anniversary of the Birth of Wakanoura, a Sacred Land of Waka Poetry, we are promoting the “Sacred Land of Waka Poetry, Bay of As part of the “Poems Project,” we will work with local communities and private organizations to promote the appeal of this “sacred land of waka poetry.” 1. The Wakanoura 1,300th Anniversary Grand Festival Executive Committee was established following the completion of the Wakanoura 1,300th Anniversary Grand Festival in December 2024.
