The history of kimono is the history of Japan itself, and our company has inherited the family motto of “Eitai Fueki” for generations, preserving the essence of Nishijin weaving while continuing to create products that are in tune with the times. While this may sound conservative at first glance, we create products that combine traditional techniques and designs with modern sensibilities. The current head of the family is the tenth generation. 【Edo Komon】 Daimatsu Dyeing Factory This long-established company was founded in 1934 by the founder, Fukumatsu Nakajo, who began training at a dyeing factory in 1921. Currently,
second-generation owner Ryuichi Nakajo and third-generation owner Yasutaka Nakajo lead a group of young craftsmen, carrying on the tradition while working hard to create products. We offer Edo Komon kimono fabrics and obi sashes that combine the expertise of a komon dyer with the advanced dyeing techniques unique to Daimatsu Dyeing Factory.

From a sustainable perspective, they combine the timeless beauty and design of Japanese culture to create one-of-a-kind garments. They have attracted attention from fashion-conscious people both in Japan and overseas. By not discarding kimonos but reconstructing them from a new perspective, they are passing on Japan’s traditional beauty to the future and sharing it with the world. [Genuine Kaga Yuzen] – Inherited Beauty and Technique – This is a traditional Japanese craft with a history of approximately 400 years. The unique colors using the “Five Colors of Kaga” and the realistic depictions of natural flowers and landscapes are all hand-painted by artisans. Colorful yet subdued, Kaga Yuzen is a masterpiece that everyone will want to own and pass down from parent to child. 【Ushiku Tsumugi】-The Crystallization of Nature and Skill- Ushiku Tsumugi, which has been passed down for over a thousand years in Shiramine (formerly Ushiku), Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is made from cocoons containing two silkworms called “tamamayu.” The unique knots created by the intricately intertwined fibers are a distinctive feature of Ushiku Tsumugi. It is also said to be so strong that it will not tear even if it gets caught on a nail, and the nail can even be pulled out, giving it the nickname “Kuginuki Tsumugi.” The more you wear it, the more it will become comfortable, and its beauty will deepen with time.

Fascinated by antique textiles at the age of 20, Itchiku opened his studio in 1961 after surviving the war and being detained. The following year, he named his studio “Itchiku Tsujigahana,” and began creating unique works using layered dyeing, shibori, and original colors. His work has been exhibited both in Japan and abroad, earning high acclaim. 【明月盧】 The concept is based on the three principles of “Shu, Ha, Ri” – Shu, Hari, and Ri – found in the spirit of the tea ceremony. Shu represents tradition, Ha represents innovation, and Ri represents originality. The patterns are based on classics, and the differences are expressed through the fabric, technique, and color. Their uniqueness has been recognized, and they have been featured in art museums and magazines overseas. They have also collaborated with famous musicians.
