Jill Furmanovsky’s comment: From my first shoot with Oasis in December 1994 through their breakup in August 2009, I had the privilege of being close to the band members and having the freedom to photograph them. I was the right age and experienced to work with such a fun-loving band of musicians (who are seriously funny), led by the talented Gallagher brothers. This is my life’s masterpiece, and I’ve put a lot of effort into creating something that fans will want to see. Many of the images featured here have never been published before, so I hope Oasis fans will enjoy them. I’m especially grateful to Noel for his contribution and support. I’m also incredibly pleased to have worked with the design and editorial team at Thames & Hudson, whose dedication to bringing this book to life was incredible. ◆ Noel Gallagher Noel Gallagher is the main songwriter, singer, and guitarist of Oasis, the band that defined the era of Cool Britannia. In August 1994, Oasis’ first album, “Definitely Maybe,” reached number one in the UK charts and achieved widespread critical and commercial success, followed by two albums, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? ” (1995) and “Be Here Now” (1997). The band disbanded in 2009, but a reunion was announced in August 2024. Noel Gallagher’s statement: “It has been an honour to have known Jill for 30 years. ◆ Translator: Kazuyo Horie Moved to the UK in 1990 and based mainly in London, he worked as an assistant and photo retoucher for veteran rock photographer Ross Halfin. He has lived in the UK for 35 years.
