After returning to Japan in 2016, she has been based in Tokyo, providing hair styling for fashion magazines, commercials, advertisements, and shows, as well as wigs and headpieces for musicians and other artists. She continues to work extensively both domestically and internationally, including selling her hair accessory line “PINS” at the now-defunct Paris select shop colette. For the past five years, she has been actively creating and exhibiting artwork, attracting many fans from overseas. In recent years, she has worked on a wide range of projects, from hair styling for Paris Fashion Week to show window designs for Uniqlo and major department stores. 【KNT365 × KUNIO KOHZAKI】 For this installation, I upcycled past KNT365 pieces that had become damaged or soiled during the production and sales process. I then shredded them all and sewed them together into patchwork pieces to create and reconstruct KNT365 archive (historical) patterns. These one-of-a-kind art pieces, based on the theme of “destruction and reconstruction,” inherit the brand’s history while elevating it into a new form. These cushion-inspired pieces can also be enjoyed as home decor. The plush toys include a spiky punk bear, a cross, a peace sign, an anarchy sign, a circular sign, a yin-yang sign, and a smiley face with an open third eye. These pieces incorporate punk and psychedelic elements while also blending in the softness and cuteness of knit material, creating a design that allows you to enjoy the shadows cast on the interior of the store as light filters in.

Her attention to detail in acrylic paint and her wide range of expressive methods, including embroidery and three-dimensional works, are also appealing. This exhibition will feature AZUSA IIDA’s first framed works drawn with colored pencils. These are special sets of three works created specifically for the collaboration with KNT365, and the frame colors have been tailored to evoke the atmosphere of the space.
