The stage greeting, in which the members appeared on stage, was broadcast live to movie theaters across the country, allowing fans all over the country to enjoy the event in real time. THE ORAL CIGARETTES, who held their first arena tour in approximately six years, “AlterGeist0000 ARENA TOUR 2025,” in April this year, will release a LIVE Blu-ray featuring footage from the tour, “AlterGeist0000 ARENA TOUR 2025,” on December 24th. To commemorate the release, “AlterGeist0000 ARENA TOUR 2025 THE MOVIE” was screened. It’s an original film made up of live footage, a documentary, and exclusive interviews with the band members. Fans from all over Japan flocked to cinemas to see the film, which was only available for two days on October 11th and 12th. This article reports on the first of two stage greetings held at Marunouchi Piccadilly on the 11th. THE ORAL CIGARETTES appeared on stage after the screening. When Takuya Yamanaka asked, “How was it?” the fans, who had just finished watching the film, responded with enthusiastic applause and cheers. The arena tour filmed this time was held in conjunction with the release of their sixth album, “AlterGeist0000.” After the album’s release, THE ORAL CIGARETTES embarked on an arena tour after touring live houses in nine cities across the country. The four members say that it was during this live house tour that they gained a solid sense of confidence for the arena tour. “I’m very happy with the finished product. I’m so happy everyone got to see it,” he said with joy. Yamanaka mentioned that the production was simpler than previous arena tours, reflecting, “This arena tour relied on the visuals and our four physical bodies.” The live performance footage that Yamanaka mentioned was produced by a fellow creator, and it was also packed with the team’s attention to detail. Suzuki Shigenobu said, “The video panel behind us (during the live performance) was huge, probably the biggest we’ve ever seen. I think the impact was conveyed well on the movie theater screen, so I think everyone enjoyed it.”

Nakanishi Masaya commented, “Wow, it was amazing. Something like this…” while gesturing, commenting on the realism of the drone footage. He continued, “It’s been a while since we last performed in an arena, so the visuals and production were incredibly powerful, and I think that impact was conveyed even when watching it in a movie theater. I enjoyed watching it too,” he said with satisfaction. Another notable feature of this film is the large number of shots that capture the expressions of the audience. Yamanaka posed a simple question to the audience, asking, “Do you realize you’re being filmed?”, to which Akira replied with a smile, “We don’t get to see the audience’s expressions up close during a live performance. It’s nice to be able to see that.” This stage greeting was conducted by just the four members, without an emcee. After talking about the live performance, the four members answered questions from the audience and played original games, enjoying interacting with fans in a relaxed atmosphere. During the event, a birthday cake was brought out as a surprise for Suzuki, who turned 35 that day. As the audience sang birthday songs to celebrate Suzuki, one of the members suggested, “Why don’t Shige sing at the end?”, and Suzuki finally performed a passionate song. As his tenor voice sang “Happy Birthday to Me,” the venue erupted in warm laughter. Suzuki expressed his gratitude to the audience, saying, “Thank you for your congratulations.” He also expressed his enthusiasm for his future endeavors, saying, “We’ve got a tour lined up for next year, and I’m going to keep working hard without using my age as an excuse, so I hope you’ll continue to support me.” At the end of the event, Yamanaka once again spoke about his thoughts on the video work. “When I watched the video, I was surprised at how much I loved everyone. I want to watch this video over and over again, and show it to other bands. I want many bands to know that ‘we can make an arena a space filled with love like this,’ and I would be happy if this trend of playing arenas as well as standing venues spreads,” he said, savoring the significance of the video. He then concluded his greeting on stage by telling the fans, “From now on, we will be playing live in small venues and arenas alike.
