This year marks the 26th anniversary of the event. The theme for 2025 is “Light, Sparkle.” The glow of this world-class chandelier, measuring approximately 5 meters in height and 3 meters in width, with 8,500 crystal pieces and 250 lights, will envelop the town of Ebisu in a gorgeous glow. The lighting ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 8th, the first day of the festival. A 10-meter-tall Christmas tree will be set up in Clock Square, sparkling with approximately 100,000 champagne gold light bulbs illuminating the promenade leading up to the chandelier. In addition, the Christmas Marche, which attracted many visitors last year, will be held again this year. In addition to shops selling Christmas-themed items such as miscellaneous goods and gifts, there will also be food trucks offering special menus perfect for the cold season. Its creation requires the skills of skilled artisans, including the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (M.O.F.), and a long time of 15,000 hours. ＜The History of Baccarat Chandeliers＞ Baccarat’s origins date back to 1764, when a glass factory was established in the village of Baccarat, France, with the approval of King Louis XV. In 1824, the company produced the first crystal chandelier in France. Since unveiling two giant candelabra and a 140-light chandelier at the 1855 Paris World’s Fair, Baccarat has produced chandeliers of various designs and scales. These works, which freely demonstrate Baccarat’s creativity, have been admired around the world, and royalty, aristocrats, and businessmen from all over the world have flocked to decorate their own homes, and architects have decorated the buildings they designed.
