Kyoto University of the Arts (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City; President: Taku Sato) is collaborating with Eizan Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City; President: Hideaki Toyoda) and Kyoto Seika University (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City; President: Masato Sawada) to leverage the unique strengths of both universities to promote regional revitalization, human resource development, and cultural advancement through the arts, contributing to enhancing the appeal of areas along the railway line. As part of this initiative, the “Future Eiden” art project is being implemented, in which students exhibit their works on Eizan Electric Railway platforms, waiting rooms, signboard frames, and more. This exhibition aims to look back on the history that has been shared with the local community and connect it to the journey that continues into the future. To convey the charm of Eizan Electric Railway stations and the surrounding areas, each artist will incorporate their research results and messages they hope users will take into account, and will be exhibited at each Eizan Electric Railway station. Additionally, as a special exhibit, new works from the “By-Products Shop,” an art project planned by Kyoto University of Arts professors Yoshitaka Yazu and Takeshi Yamada, will be unveiled at Yase-Hieizanguchi Station. In the autumn, when the leaves change color, you can enjoy both art and beautiful scenery at the same time.
