The Hida Takayama Town Experience Exchange Center opened in July 2018 as a place for interaction between local residents and tourists, and to promote traditional culture and local industries. Utilizing a historically significant building, the center offers visitors the opportunity to experience the charms of Japanese culture and Takayama through traditional craft demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Since its opening, the center has been visited by many people throughout the year, thanks to the cooperation of numerous demonstration and experience instructors. Through these experiences, people of all ages can learn about local culture while having fun. This year, we are holding the Hida Takayama Town Experience Center Festival twice a year, in spring and autumn, to promote use of the Community Plaza and widely publicize the appeal of our experience menu. This time, we would like to inform you about the Autumn (October) Festival. It will be a special day where you can experience local traditions and the warmth of the people. Please take this opportunity to visit the Hida Takayama Town Experience Center and enjoy the Autumn Festival. ● Hida Takayama Town Experience Exchange Center Festival (October) Date and Time: Saturday, October 18th and Sunday, October 19th, 2025, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM on both days Venue: 35-1 Kamiichinomachi, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, 506-0844 Admission Fee: Free Experiences: Miyakasa (Kasa Hide craft), Arudo Shakushi (18th only), Hida-dyed tote bag, Sarubobo, braided cord, bamboo lamp, woodblock lampshade, brush pen art (19th only), Japanese-patterned bag Experience fee: Varies depending on the experience (see website) *Takayama residents receive a discount on the experience fee.
