While covering ZARD songs for study purposes, she was drawn into the world of Izumi Sakai’s lyrics and began to seriously engage with them. This was conveyed to ZARD’s producer, Daiko Nagato, who named the group “SARD UNDERGROUND” as a group that would “pass on ZARD’s works to future generations,” and they began full-scale activities. Unlike sprint races, these races are characterized by their long duration, which demands the team’s overall strength, including driver changes and fuel strategies. In addition, to ensure fair competition, races are divided into classes based on regulations, resulting in a close match between the skills of teams and machines. Spectators are captivated by the spectacular racing action. Race vehicles include not only machines customized by privateers, but also standard vehicles competing in GT car races around the world, such as GT3, GT4, and TCR. In recent years, automakers have also participated in the race with the aim of demonstrating new technologies such as hydrogen engines, synthetic fuels, and biodiesel fuels in an effort to realize a carbon-neutral society.
