Nijo Castle is a night art event that has garnered attention both from within Japan and overseas as a way to fully enjoy autumn in Kyoto. The theme for 2025 is “Moon Viewing.” By combining the ancient culture of
moon-appreciation with digital art, Nijo Castle’s architecture and gardens will be enveloped in a magical night of light and sound. Enjoy an immersive experience unique to NAKED, including magnificent projection mapping illuminating the Karamon Gate and the sliding screen paintings of the Ninomaru Palace, interactive displays that respond to visitors’ movements, and five-sense experiences featuring scents and sounds. In addition, “ikebana art,” created in
collaboration with the Ikenobo School of Flower Arranging, will decorate the garden, creating a beautiful space where flowers, light, and the moon intertwine.
