little-known restaurants on foot In this gourmet drifting documentary, Makita Sports gets drunk and searches on foot for “Robinson Tavern,” which appears in a mysterious location far from any train station, making you wonder, “Why is it in a place like this!?” The setting for the 10 PM broadcast on Saturday, October 18th is Kamata Station on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. From there, Makita Sports heads to Kurihira, about a 15-minute walk from the station. Located next to Kamata Onsen, the aged noren curtains and wooden doors exude a sense of charm. This restaurant was opened in 1978 by the owner and his wife, when they got married. Since then, they have not hired any staff, and the couple has continued to run the restaurant together. Just as Makita was about to order a drink, his partner for this trip, Nobuko (Party-chan), appeared. It was practically the first time the two had ever spoken to each other. After toasting with highballs and beer, the pair ordered their first dish: beef tendon stewed in red wine and beer. The flavor was infused into the dish, making it irresistible. Next, they ordered deep-fried chicken, which was both tasty and well-portioned. Because it was so filling, changing the flavors while eating it was one way to enjoy it. Makita and Nobuko tried changing the flavor with chili sauce. What would their reaction be…? For the yakitori, I ordered some with salt and some with sauce. The yakitori, drenched in the secret sauce passed down from the chef’s previous restaurant, is absolutely delicious. Other delicious dishes include stir-fried tomato and egg and a bowl of green tea soba noodles for the finale. The flavors that have been loved for 47 years and the atmosphere created by the owner and his wife are a must-see.
