He excelled as a relief pitcher, winning the title of Best Relief Pitcher in 2003. In 2010, he entered the Major Leagues, playing for four teams before transferring to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in 2013 and contributing to the team’s victory in the Japan Series. He transferred to his former team, Yakult, in 2019 and retired at the end of the 2020 season. A legend who pitched in a total of 906 games in Japan and the United States.
