Uncovering the Mysteries of Hit Anime Production!” on Saturday, November 1, 2025. This event will be led by second-year students in the Art & Entertainment Work Course of the Department of Media Expression, Faculty of Expression Studies, as part of their PBL (Problem-Based Learning) program. In 2025, we will be inviting Michihiko Suwa, anime planning producer and representative director of ATHHA PP Co., Ltd., who has worked on numerous TV anime series such as “YAWARA!”, “The Kindaichi Case Files,” and “Inuyasha,” and was the founding producer of “City Hunter” and “Detective Conan,” as our guest lecturer. He will share behind-the-scenes stories and
behind-the-scenes information about the production of numerous classic anime. We also plan to hold screenings of films selected by students, and consultation sessions with students in this course will be held before and after the lecture, making this an event recommended for high school students and their parents. 【Key Points】 1. This PBL initiative encourages students to take ownership of social issues and connect their learning to solving social challenges. 2. We will be hosting an open lecture with Michihiko Suwa, a producer who has planned numerous programs. 3. A consultation session with students from the Art & Entertainment Work Course will be held on the same day, so it is also recommended for high school students and their parents.

This spirit of collaboration is supported by the founding principle of “Practicing Wisdom and Compassion,” which was adopted by our university at its founding in 1926. “Practicing Wisdom and Compassion” represents the way of life of a bodhisattva in Buddhism. A bodhisattva is someone who strives to complete their own training and save all living beings. Simply put, a bodhisattva is someone who strives to improve themselves while also acting with the happiness of others in mind. We hope that students will live like bodhisattvas throughout their lives, not just while enrolled at the university. Taisho University’s founding principle embodies this aspiration, and based on this principle, we carry out our educational and research activities with an educational vision of “Becoming the Four Kinds of People,” which is rooted in the Buddhist spirit of “compassion, self-illumination, the middle way, and coexistence.” Official website: https://www.tais.ac.jp/
