The following year, the track was updated as “Sweet Inspiration ’85” on the compilation album “THIS BOY.” The track was realized through a collaboration between Yui Masaki and Haruma, known for writing lyrics for Hiroshi Sato, Masayuki Suzuki, Anri, Miho Nakayama, and others. The arrangement was handled by Tatsuhiko Iino, a former member of FLYING KIDS who has built a trusting relationship with Haruma through over five years of collaboration with him through his YouTube cover song submission project. Furthermore, FLYING KIDS member Shiro Maruyama joins the team on guitar, resulting in a truly evergreen, Reiwa-era version of city pop. One day over lunch, Masaki played me Sato Hiroshi’s “Sweet Inspiration ’85” and said, “I’d love for Haruma to sing this song.” His words warmed my heart, and we began working on this song. I am truly happy to be able to deliver “Sweet Inspiration – Mysterious Power” to you in this way. ●Masaki Yui’s Comment We first met three years ago. I was captivated by the warmth of her grandmother’s handiwork, which was evident in her cute singing voice. As we talked, I became convinced that he was someone who could convey great pop music to people of all generations.
