style=”text-decoration:underline;color:#428ac9;word-break:break-all;” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow ugc noopener”>New Word Survey | Cheerleading Section Harassment (Ohara)” was conducted. The sight of parents enthusiastically cheering from the stands at their children’s sports days, recitals, and games is a heartwarming sight. During the sports day season, the term “cheer section harassment” (Ohara) has been featured in several media outlets and on social media, referring to “excessive cheering” and “pressure on other parents and children.” We will introduce awareness of “Ohara” and some of the heartwarming cheering that actually takes place. <Topics> ▶90% (88.6%) of people are unaware of the term “cheerleading section harassment (o-hara).” ▶Things to keep in mind when cheering for children include “respecting children’s independence,” “praising efforts rather than results,” and “remembering to be considerate of others.” ▶Summary (This release is an excerpt from “New Word Survey | Cheering Section Harassment (Ohara)”. For the full text, see here) Awareness of “On Harassment” is Low, Approximately 90% Have Never Heard of It

We also asked parents, who are now on the support side, about “happy experiences receiving support.” \Mom and Dad’s Support Style (Word of Mouth)/ • “I felt they were supporting me because they believed in me.” • “I get nervous easily, so having people I know cheer me on helps me relax a little.” • “When I missed the baton, I heard cheers from the audience.” It seems that they have found that support that shows trust and recognition of their efforts is a great source of strength, not only when they achieve results or their efforts are rewarded, but also when they fail, feel tired, or feel anxious. Summary Even if they’re not familiar with the term “cheering harassment,” it appears that many parents naturally cheer in a way that doesn’t constitute harassment. When asked about their cheering style, many said they “praise effort rather than results,” “want to empathize with their child’s feelings,” and “cheer while being considerate of others.” We also heard comments like, “I learned for the first time about the term ‘cheering harassment.’ I think I may have been putting pressure on my child without realizing it,” suggesting that parents are constantly taking in parenting information as they raise their children.
