Nakameguro DAN releases collaboration T-shirt with manga “Soul Eater”
DAN Inc. Press Release: October 23, 2025 Nakameguro DAN releases collaboration T-shirts with the manga “Soul Eater” DAN, a store located in Nakameguro, has produced two original collaboration T-shirts with “Soul Eater,” a manga by Atsushi Ohkubo that was serialized in “Monthly Shonen Gangan” from 2004 to 2013. DAN’s T-shirt collection features collaborations with
never-before-seen designs and works, creating high-quality T-shirts that will become vintage items in the future. The fourth installment is based on SOUL EATER, a manga by Atsushi Ohkubo that was serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan from 2004 to 2013.

The Maka & Soul design uses the cover illustration from the September 2013 issue of “Monthly Shonen Gangan,” which featured the final chapter. The Kid & Black⛤Star design uses the cover illustration from volume 23 of the manga. To recreate the manga’s design, which features characters against a black background, a technique called Black Magic was used, which leaves the black areas unprinted and instead uses the black body of the shirt. To recreate the feel of a vintage T-shirt, a printing technique called “spot color separation” was used, in which the design’s colors were separated into 15 halftone dots and then layered one by one using a silkscreen. This technique was primarily used in the United States in the 1990s, but it is extremely difficult to achieve and only a limited number of machines remain, making it a rare technique that is rarely used today. The ink used is oil-based rubber ink, similar to that used at the time, so it will develop a rich patina with repeated wear and washing. Available at the Nakameguro store from Saturday, October 25, 2025. The online shop will begin selling the product from 7:00 PM on the same day.
