Details A lifestyle-focused bookstore that satisfies adults’ intellectual curiosity and provides rich experiences and inspiration. Starting Friday, October 24, 2025, Tsutaya Bookstores will be holding the “Concierge Bunko” fair nationwide to coincide with Autumn Reading Week and Book Day (November 1). Concierges will offer paperbacks carefully selected around a theme. The “Concierge Bunko” fair brings together concierges who normally work in their own stores to connect through book selections, providing customers nationwide with the opportunity to discover new books. The theme of this seventh edition is “Books You Should Read Before You’re 100.” In this era of 100-year lifespans, our concierges have selected recommended books for each age. You can choose a book that reflects your current age, or it might be fun to pick one up and imagine yourself in the past or future. What you experienced, or didn’t experience, in your younger days. What you may experience in the future. Why not relive the events of various stages of life by reading books? What is a Tsutaya Bookstore Concierge? Our concierges are professionals with extensive knowledge and expertise backed by experience, and can offer lifestyle suggestions centered around books. Each of our concierges specializes in a genre, and through their unique product selection, sales floor curation, and experiences, they bring customers new encounters and discoveries. As proof of their service, concierges wear a black “concierge badge” named after the famous Edo-period producer Tsutaya Juzaburo (Tsutajyu). It features the mark of “Koshodo,” the company founded by Tsutajyu. In addition to introducing books and other products, concierges are also active in a wide range of fields, including product planning to enrich lifestyles, speaking at lectures and events, and appearing in the media.
