Kamishiroishi also appears in the audio guide, sharing stories about the interiors depicted by Impressionist painters. “I recorded it with the intention of being able to sit side by side with the audience using the audio guide and discover new things together,” he recalled. “These works, which seem to capture the scents of life at the time, the thoughts and interactions of the people, are coming to Japan. I felt as if the atmosphere of that time was floating around the works. I hope everyone will come to Ueno to experience that atmosphere.”

Impressionism,” as well as important works from Japan and abroad. This will be the first time in approximately 10 years that the Musée d’Orsay’s Impressionist collection has come to Japan on this scale.
