Discovered by Yu Aku and making her CD debut with the original song “Confession,” the title track from her second album, “Kikaseteyo Ai no Kotoba” (Let Me Hear Your Love Words), was used as an insert song in the NHK morning drama series “Chiritotechin,” and she also serves as a commentator on Fuji TV’s “Tokudane!” Vocalist Hidemi Sasaki, active in a variety of fields, held her autumn recital, “Love Songs I Want to Deliver to You Now,” today (October 24th) at Nakano ZERO in Tokyo. For the first part, she appeared in a long black dress and performed “Love is Like You” in front of a full house of 500 enthusiastic fans. She greeted the audience by saying, “For the first part of today, I would like to sing as if I were telling a story of love with just one piano.” She then went on to softly sing classic chanson hits such as “Six Fallen Leaves in San Francisco,” “Scarf,” “Accordion Player,” and “Deserter.”

Next, she sang Ryoko Moriyama’s “30 Years in Two and a Half Hours…” interspersed with witty dialogue, thrilling the audience. She performed a six-song Showa-era chanson medley (including “Love You,” “Love in Love,” “Good-for-nothing,” and “Save the Last Dance for Me”) for the first time, descending from the stage to the audience. She then returned to the stage at the end of the second part for a passionate rendition of “Hymn of Love.” Amidst thunderous applause, she responded to an encore with songs “Larch” and “Thank You for Love,” bringing the autumn recital to a close.
