(Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Daisuke Mori), a business voice training school that helps people brighten their lives through their voices, will be performing the play “Sono Hana wo Katate” (The Flower in Your Hand) at SYD Hall in Yoyogi, Tokyo, from Wednesday, October 29th to Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. This performance aims to support the education of children living in garbage dumps in the Philippines, and a crowdfunding campaign will also be held to provide financial support.

Why provide financial assistance to children living in garbage dumps in the Philippines now? In 2017, through the activities of Shuyodan General Incorporated Association, I came across a support program for children working in garbage dumps in the Philippines. I immediately headed to the Philippines and witnessed the reality of the children living there. I was taken aback by the horrific conditions that unfolded before me. The people who live there make a living by picking up trash that can be sold for cash. They work tirelessly, rain or shine, for their families. Children smile as they pick up trash, as if they were on a treasure hunt with their parents. However, as they grow into adults, they often despair at the unchanging reality, and many even lose their lives to illness or accidents. The underlying reason is that illiteracy limits access to information and even educational opportunities, leaving most people living in this area with no way to escape their current situation. To break this negative cycle, Voice Crew Inc. started by supporting kindergarten education and continues to work to expand the “right to learn.” Through this activity, we support children’s “first steps” to seize their own futures, right from Japan.

We need to reexamine “emotional happiness,” which cannot be measured by economic affluence alone. Isn’t this the question we need to ask in this day and age?
