(Headquarters: Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Takao Tonouchi) will be exhibiting at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2025 (East Hall, Booth No. E7314), which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from Thursday, October 30th to Sunday, November 9th, 2025 (open to the public from Friday, October 31st). The company will be exhibiting the “Kurosuke” (developed and designed by nicobi Inc.) and “Soramaru,” an ultra-compact electric vehicle for which the company is responsible for vehicle assembly. The company will also unveil a concept booth that depicts the near-future world in which Kurosuke and Soramaru are active. The booth design and materials distributed at the venue incorporate abundant student ideas born out of an
industry-academia collaboration project. Starting in 2023, the Nishida Laboratory of the Department of Design Science, Faculty of Creative Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology, and nicobi Inc. launched an industry-academia collaboration project to jointly work on service design for “Kurosuke.” As part of this project, students were tasked with creating exhibits expressing the future world of Kurosuke and Soramaru, including the booth design, flyers, and novelty goods that Tonox, the company responsible for manufacturing and assembling Kurosuke, will exhibit at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2025. Utilizing the innovative ideas of young students, we have created a space where visitors can experience the vision of the future envisioned by Tonox and nicombi. Through this exhibition, Tonox will highlight the young energy and creativity that will drive the next-generation mobility industry and demonstrate new possibilities for manufacturing through industry-academia collaboration. Please stop by the Tonox booth in East Hall E7314 to experience the world of future mobility for yourself. ■Tonox Booth Design

Comment from Ayako Nishida, Professor, Department of Design Science, Faculty of Creative Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology In 2023, the Nishida Laboratory of the Department of Design Science, School of Creative Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology, and nicobi Inc. launched an industry-academia collaborative project to design services for the ultra-compact EV (Kurosuke). This time, Tonox Corporation, which manufactures and assembles Kurosuke, brought Kurosuke’s futuristic worldview to life through the ideas of young students, including the booth design, flyers, and novelty goods at JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2025. If you are visiting the venue, please stop by the Tonox booth and view the exhibits. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Tonox Corporation, nicobi Inc., and all those involved for providing me with this valuable opportunity and learning space. [Comment from Project Leader, First-Year Graduate Student, Hisamichi Jion] Since the kickoff in June, we have been exchanging ideas with Tonox employees, collaborating on everything from booth planning and design to exhibit configuration. Students from Chiba Institute of Technology’s Department of Design Science were involved in the planning, design, and exhibit configuration of this booth. They considered how to convey the appeal of Tonox’s
manufacturing and the worldview of the “Kurosuke Project” from a student perspective. We feel that we were able to present a proposal that utilized the free-thinking style of students. As the leader of an industry-academia collaboration project for the first time, I faced many challenges, but I worked together with my team members to overcome them step by step. I am truly happy that through this experience I was able to be involved in a field where design interacts with society. [Booth Design: Comments from Rin Yamaguchi, 4th Year Undergraduate Student] Tonox’s exhibition booth was designed with a plastic model runner motif to dispel preconceived notions of mobility and appeal to inspiring women in their 20s. With the free-spirited imagination of students, we created an exciting booth that will make visitors want to take photos. We also focused on designing the giveaway giveaway items to appeal to women, making them think, “Cute!” and “I want it!” It embodies Tonox’s passion for manufacturing and Nicomobi’s desire to “grow Kurosuke together.” When you visit our booth, we hope you’ll take photos with the exhibits and giveaways and share them on social media. [Tonox Co., Ltd., Deputy General Manager, Technology Department, Tonox Corporation, Toshihiko Kato] In preparing for our exhibit at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2025, I was inspired and learned a lot while working with students from the Nishida Laboratory at Chiba Institute of Technology to create our booth. The students always worked positively despite the limited time available, breathing new life into the project with their flexible imagination and drive. I’m proud that the exhibit successfully blended the message we wanted to convey as a company with the unique perspectives and sensibilities of the students. I hope many of you will visit our booth, pick up some of the novelty items the students have lovingly designed, and experience their passion for the project for yourself. Tonox Co., Ltd.
