The two alternate roles for each episode, delivering narration that will make you crave noodle dishes. Masuda has plenty of experience with narration work, and the recording went smoothly. However, Okada’s narration was so unusual that even he described himself as a “beginner.” Perhaps Okada’s episode will be a treat? Each of the two narrators has their own unique flavor, and you’re sure to enjoy them in different ways. Be sure to tune in and enjoy the local noodle dishes and the narration that adds a touch of elegance to the noodles! Before the broadcast, we received comments from the Masuda Okada duo! Masuda: “Just watching the video makes me super hungry.” Okada: “Keisuke Okada doesn’t use his body, he competes with just his voice, lol.” Q. Please tell us your honest thoughts about narrating this program.

Even looking at the expressions on the faces of the locals, you can see their passion and confidence in their noodle dishes. It makes me feel like it would be fun to travel just to eat those noodles. Some of the restaurants I’ve been to in the past also made me rediscover their charms. Okada-san: It’s the difficulty of narration work. I really admire the work of narrators, haha. If the program’s video is the noodles and soup, the narration is the ingredient. I want to believe it turned out to be a good ingredient, lol. As a comedian, I tend to take the lead, but I really enjoyed the joy of narration work, being able to add emotion while staying close without getting in the way. Q. Tell me about your favorite noodle dish. Masuda: I like all kinds of noodles. For ramen, I like soy sauce, soy sauce tonkotsu, Chinese soba noodles, and miso. I also like curry udon. There’s an udon restaurant in Osaka that I’ve been going to since I was a college student, before I became a manzai comedian. It’s still my favorite. I’m very particular about noodles, and when I travel all over the country for work, I go to famous restaurants, but recently I’ve come full circle and found myself going back to the noodles I ate in my teens and twenties. Okada: I like noodles with thick sauce. Like gomoku ankake yakisoba. When I go to the golf course, they often have gomoku ankake yakisoba, so I always order it. Q. As you’ve traveled to various regions across the country, are there any local noodle dishes that you like? Masuda: Taiwanese mazesoba from Nagoya! There are restaurants in Osaka and Tokyo that have been opened by people who trained at restaurants in Nagoya, so I go there quite often. Q. On the show, you say, “Life would be boring without noodles,” but what would you two consider boring without? Masuda: If I had to take this away, the one thing I’d be bored of would be the Hanshin Tigers. If I couldn’t watch Hanshin Tigers games, I’d have a lot more free time, lol. Okada: The Orix Buffaloes. With 143 games a year, every day is like the WBC for me. More than Shohei Ohtani or Yoshinobu Yamamoto, it’s Orix. Image

Masuda: I think watching this show will make you want to go to the restaurant. I’d be happy if you check out noodle dishes at your travel destinations on this show the next time you travel. Okada: It really makes me realize how much Japanese people love noodles. I think the Japanese temperament of hard work and persistence is a good match for thin, long noodles. Watching the show will make you feel like you’re traveling. Be sure to watch it with an empty stomach! Q. Please give a message to our viewers. Masuda: Please complete all the restaurants I’ve introduced, haha. And I’d love to go on location someday! Okada-san: Keisuke Okada doesn’t use his body, he just uses his voice. lol. Be sure to check out this new side of him as a narrator! ◆Program Title: “It’s Noodle World ~Life Without Noodles Is Boring~” ◆Broadcast: Friday, October 31, 2025 7:00 PM: #1 Nagasaki Champon (Narration: Masuda Okada) Production Cooperation: Nagasaki Cable Media 7:15 PM: #2 Edo Soba (Narration: Masuda Okada, Masuda) Production Cooperation: Cable Television Shinagawa
