Wada-san’s hunting skills exceeded expectations during his last hunting experience. This time, he sampled the “wild boar manga meat” prepared by his hunting instructor, Ise-san. Wada-san seemed a little hesitant to try the bone-in, wild-looking meat. “I might not like it,” he said, showing his reservations, but once he tried it, he was surprised by its soft, mild flavor and exclaimed, “It’s delicious!”

This hot spring facility, located at the westernmost tip of Shikoku, suffered the misfortune of being completely burned down by lightning in 2021, but was rebuilt and reopened in 2024. After refreshing in the hot springs, we enjoyed soft-serve ice cream topped with a cute turtle cookie. When asked about his impressions of the location shoot, Wada said, “At first, I thought it was a prank and we’d be chased by a huge wild boar… but it turned out to be a great location shoot.” Image

But I don’t hear much about hunting. We hope that by having a famous person like Wada Manju actually set up a hunting trap and sharing the process publicly, many people, both within and outside Ehime Prefecture, will have the opportunity to learn about the hunting process. They also introduced us to Kamegaike Onsen, and Ikata Town, Ehime Prefecture, located at the westernmost tip of Shikoku. I’m very happy that you’ve learned about us. This was my first time visiting a video shoot, and I learned a lot, including the unique tension when the cameras are rolling and the performers’ skillful speaking skills. I also appeared to promote Kamegaike Onsen. I was nervous, but it was a very valuable experience. Known for his greeting, “Ganbari Manju!” (Let’s do our best!), he is also well-known for his bright and friendly character.
