Metere Press release: October 30, 2025 To Members of the Press Me-Tele’s “Dodeska (Plus)” field anchor Takashi Uesaka has won the Nagoya Mayor’s Award at the “Nagoya Human Power Awards” sponsored by the Nagoya Junior Chamber of Commerce! Evaluating career education activities themed around the SDGs . Takashi Uesaka, an announcer who appears on Me-Tele (Nagoya Television Broadcasting)’s evening news program “Dodeska ” (broadcast every Monday to Friday), has been awarded the Nagoya Mayor’s Award at the Nagoya Outstanding Young Persons Awards (NOYP), sponsored by the Nagoya Junior Chamber of Commerce. Announcer Uesaka has been visiting schools in the Tokai region to conduct “SDG Outreach Classes.” Over the course of approximately four years, she has provided career education through the SDGs to over 2,000 children through introducing case studies she has personally researched and through workshops using card games. Her activities have been recognized as enhancing their “problem-discovery and problem-solving skills.”

Its purpose is to recognize the activities of young people who are tackling social issues in a variety of fields, including science and technology, medicine and welfare, culture and arts, international exchange, the environment, sports, education, and urban development, and to encourage further success. 【Announcer Uesaka’s Acceptance Statement】 I am honored to receive this prestigious award. It all began five years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I felt overwhelmed by the daily reporting of new infection numbers. I wanted to use my “power of communication” to empower young people who will be responsible for the future of society! With this desire in mind, I began career education activities centered around the SDGs. Our activities have gradually expanded, and over the past four years, we have spent time with over 2,000 children. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the children who have participated and to everyone who has supported our activities. I tell the children, “Society is changing rapidly. You can’t survive by continuing along the same lines as the past.
