Open House Operation Center receives “Telework Promotion Award” Promoting an environment that makes it easy for people with
disabilities to work and a rewarding workplace
……
Open House Group Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Masaaki Arai; hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) is sponsored by the Japan Telework Association (Chairman: Hiroshi Kurihara; Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as the “Telework Association”) In the “24th Telework Promotion Award”, we recognized the merits of choosing multiple satellite offices as work locations other than the head office, rather than working from home, as a flexible way of working when hiring people with disabilities, and the fact that we employ a wide range of people with disabilities. We were highly evaluated and received an encouragement award in the social contribution category.

Reason for award
1. Through activities to promote the employment of people with disabilities through telework, we are contributing to improving the inclusiveness of organizations and the well-being of people with disabilities. This is a noteworthy initiative in light of the trend toward securing and utilizing diverse human resources.
2. Through measures such as assigning specialized support staff and providing social support, we have maintained a workplace retention rate of around 95% for people with disabilities and achieved long-term employment. The longest-serving employee has reached his 8th year, and we are beginning to see examples of people’s disabilities improving through work. The city was also praised for its high proportion of people with mental disabilities.
3. In the future, through analysis of the results of past activities, we will disseminate information such as the relationship between employment of people with disabilities and telework, and the benefits of choosing a satellite office rather than working from home, thereby expanding the field of telework at an even higher level. It is expected that this will continue to be developed.

About the operation center
The “Operation Center” transfers and carries out administrative operations within our group, and has three locations: Hachioji City, Tokyo, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture.
For people with disabilities, working in a regular office environment can be difficult, and they may be forced to give up on continuing to work. In order to solve these problems, our company has established operation centers in Hachioji City, Yokohama City, and Kashiwa City, and only takes care of facilities such as barrier-free (elimination of steps, etc.), rest spaces, interview rooms, multipurpose toilets, etc. In addition, we have introduced regular interviews and operational support from a full-time support person, as well as a half-day work exemption system for regular hospital visits. We are also actively working to improve the environment and systems so that diverse human resources can demonstrate stable performance.
Features of the operation center regarding employment of people with disabilities
At the operation center, where approximately 83.1% of our group’s people with disabilities work, we have created an environment that is comfortable for people with mental disabilities, whose retention rate is generally said to be low, by leveraging our knowledge of hiring people with disabilities and our unique system design and management system. We have achieved a one-year retention rate of 94.9% for members who joined the company within the past three years. (as of June 2023)
