Little by little, he approaches the computer, his eyes shining brightly. Noticing Smartphone-kun’s presence, the serious and impatient PC-kun asks, “If you have something to say…!” Sumaho-kun musters up his courage and confesses, “Would you like to be my friend?” PC-kun is momentarily shaken, but responds with a deliberately difficult, “I’m not crazy…” At that moment, the area around him is enveloped in bright light, as if to express PC-kun’s feelings. We will bring you a making-of movie in which PC-kun and Smartphone-kun talk about the behind-the-scenes of the shooting. For this second shoot, the power of the sticks used to control Smartphone-kun was upgraded to two, and the range of acting expanded, such as walking while shaking the smartphone screen up and down. Mr. Shimono, who will be the character voice of the shy smartphone boy, was recorded first. Mr. Shimono added the character voice to the small movements and emotions of Sumaho-kun that were not in the script, and not only admired Sumaho-kun’s cuteness, but also had fun playing the role with various patterns such as “What do you think of Sumaho-kun like this?” Next was the recording of the serious and cool PC-kun, with Mr. Ono serving as the character voice. Unlike the previous work’s “Work VS Oshigoto” edition, this work begins with a scene of a computer boy with a melancholy expression on his face. Mr. Ono played the role of PC-kun, who behaves resolutely to avoid being made aware of his loneliness, to great effect, and there were scenes where he requested a different take so as not to lose the rhythm between his lines. After the recording, Mr. Shimono said, “I can see how energetic the line is! Touching on the scene where he tried rapping in “December’s Speed Diagnosis”, Ono said, “It’s rare to sing with a character like this, so it was fun.” Through the two recordings, Mr. Ono said, “I was able to work with actors who had relationships with them.” I’m always happy to be able to work with you like this,” he said. I was genuinely happy to be able to play PC-kun again. I was also happy that Smartphone-kun was Shimono-kun. I felt like the plays were coming together even if I didn’t realize it. it was fun!
Q2. Mr. Ono, what kind of character do you think PC-kun is? Also, is there anything that Mr. Ono and Mr. Computer have in common? I think he has a very serious and sincere personality. The computer itself is the one that decides whether it’s 0 or 1, and that’s why it can get upset at unexpected things. I felt that he was somehow endearing.
Q3. The title of the speed diagnosis is “December Speed Diagnosis”. It’s December, and there are only a few days left in 2023. Looking back on the past year, please tell us about your most memorable moments, such as your interactions and messages on the internet, and the reactions you received from your fans.
This year, we have been involved in a wider variety of activities than usual, including live performances, readings, and live-action dramas. What made me particularly moved was that the staff and actors were watching my work. As a voice actor, I’m proud of my work, and I’m happiest when people like it. It’s been a happy year.

This often happens in anime scenes, but as I was recording this time too, I suddenly had the desire to try out this kind of pattern, and I was able to record while trying out various things, so it was a lot of fun. .
Q2. Mr. Shimono, what kind of character do you think Sumaho-kun is? Also, is there anything that Shimono-san and Smartphone-kun have in common?
Sumaho-kun’s character has a timid side and a lively side, and I also look like this and have a shy side, so I think we are similar. Also, I’m generally shy, but when I see people having trouble or wondering what to do, I feel like I want to intervene. Like Smartphone-kun in the spec-promoting version, I’m the type of person who sometimes feels like saying things like “I wish I could do something better” or “I wish I could do this more”, so we might be similar in that sense (lol).
