Suntory Hall will hold the “Suntory Hall Silvester Concert 2023 Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra” on Sunday, December 31, 2023, starting at 15:00.
For more than 30 years, Suntory Hall has hosted the Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra and popular singers from the Volksoper (National Theater), the historic Vienna operetta temple, during the year-end and New Year holidays. We deliver exciting polka music. The Silvester Concert, which concludes 2023, will be held as a matinee (during the daytime) so that everyone can easily attend, and after the
performance, you can welcome the new year in a relaxed manner. The program includes “Die Fledermaus,” an operetta by Johann Strauss II that is indispensable on New Year’s Eve in Vienna, and the waltz “Viennese Temperament.” A lineup of many famous songs. The conductor will be Guido Mancusi, who is familiar with Suntory Hall’s year-end and New Year performances. The soprano captivated Japanese audiences with her superb coloratura during her performance in Japan in 2016, and was highly recommended by Volksoper, with Beate Ritter appearing for the first time at Suntory Hall’s year-end and New Year
performance, and Beate Ritter, who will be appearing for the second time since last year. Two singers, Melzado Montazeri (tenor), will perform in harmony with the orchestra. Furthermore, the ballet ensemble SOVOP Vienna will liven up the stage with their beautiful dance performances. Also, at this year’s Silvester Concert, former TV Tokyo announcer Keiko Yashio will be guiding you as a navigator. Please enjoy the afternoon of New Year’s Eve at Suntory Hall to conclude 2023.
