Royal Mint’s new coin series “Dinosaur Specimen Collection” consists of three types of coins.
Each coin features the most scientifically accurate image possible of a dinosaur, created in collaboration with paleontologist Bob Nichols and Natural History Museum Professor Paul Barrett.
The first edition released this time features the design of
Tyrannosaurus, a dinosaur loved all over the world.
This gigantic life form, which lived in the late Cretaceous period between 68 and 66 million years ago, can grow up to 12 meters long and weigh more than 6.5 tons, making it one of the most feared creatures on Earth.

The Natural History Museum, London, was founded in 1881 as a branch of the British Museum.
It preserves over 80 million historical materials and is considered one of the largest natural history museums in the world.
The collection covers five fields: zoology, entomology, paleontology, botany, and mineralogy, and more than 5 million people from all over the world visit each year to see the famous specimens in each field. One of the most popular spots on the museum grounds is the “Blue zone,” where dinosaur specimens are displayed.
The specimens of dinosaurs, including the Tyrannosaurus rex, are placed in harmony with the historic architecture of the 19th century, inviting visitors to take a journey through eternity.
At the Natural History Museum, you can enjoy a specimen of the Tyrannosaurus rex, which was first discovered in the world in 1900 by fossil hunter Burnham Brown.
