Exotec renovates “Tokyo Demo Center”

Exotec Nihon Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Ryu Tatewaki, hereinafter Exotec Nihon), a wholly owned subsidiary of Exotec SAS (Headquarters: Croix, France; CEO Romain Moulin; hereinafter Exotec), announced its opening in Tokyo on December 20, 2023. We announced that we have renovated the “Tokyo Demo Center” in Shinkiba, Koto Ward, Miyako. With this renewal, we are now able to maximize the performance of the warehouse automation solution “Skypod(R) System” provided by Exotec(R), and have created an environment in which it is easier for customers to imagine the effects of implementation.

Since its opening in June 2023, the Tokyo Demo Center has hosted 200 visitors from approximately 40 companies as a permanent exhibition showroom displaying the actual Skypod system, allowing them to consider installation and experience product demonstrations. We have received favorable reviews from many customers.

[7m and 6m single/double deep rack]
・New rack
We have newly introduced 7m and 6m racks. In addition to the conventional single deep rack, we have also introduced a double deep rack (*1), which improves storage efficiency by 30%, making it possible to reproduce the actual operating environment in more detail.
・Transportation robot
With this renewal, we have increased the number of robots to nine. Previously, demonstrations were conducted in which five robots were used to transport materials picked up from racks, but with improved transport efficiency, it is now possible to see picking operations that are more similar to actual operations.
・Order mover

Along with the renewal, we have introduced an order mover (*2). The order mover can process up to four types of orders at once, further improving the efficiency of picking operations.
By expanding these products, you can now see the maximum performance of the “Skypod System”. We have evolved from a facility where you can check out Exotec’s conventional “technology” to a facility where you can solve customer-specific problems and visualize the benefits of implementing the “Skypod System” more concretely.
