It has been decided that a ceremony to unveil YOSHIKI’s completed handprints and footprints will be held at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood from 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, January 9th. In the almost 100 years since the tradition began at the theater in 1927, it is highly unusual for a living artist to unveil a completed engraving.
The ceremony will be open to the public, and a viewing area will be set up for fans who were unable to see the previous engraving ceremony. YOSHIKI’s handprints and footprints will be placed in the front lawn of the theater at 6925 Hollywood Blvd.
YOSHIKI will be the first Japanese person to have his handprints and footprints engraved at this location in September 2023. He is one of only 300 artists in the theater’s 100-year history to receive this prestigious award. YOSHIKI’s first directorial work, YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY, will be released on paid rental distribution (TVOD) in North America through Magnolia Pictures Home Entertainment’s Magnet label on March 5, 2024, and on Amazon in May 2024. The movie “YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY” depicts the emotional journey of overcoming the pain of losing a loved one and building global unity through the healing power of music.
