Kurokawa Satoyama Juku conveys the charm of Kurokawa’s people, nature, and culture.
On June 16th (Sunday), we will be making “chimaki”, a local dish from Kurokawa.
It is a food made to celebrate Boy’s Festival.
Chimaki is generally made by wrapping sticky rice in the shape of a dumpling with bamboo, but chimaki in the Kurokawa area is
I use oak leaves, reed leaves, and rushes. There are two simple ingredients: rice flour and salt.
After applying rice flour with a mortar and pestle, it is rolled into balls, wrapped in leaves, and then steamed.
Eat the dango, which has a faint smell of leaves, by dipping it in soybean flour.
