Overview of the Open Innovation Program A diverse range of
participants, including companies from within and outside the region, local government and university officials, and local residents, freely discuss themes aimed at solving regional issues and create ideas for innovative services and products. We aim to do so. For co-sponsoring organizations (such as major companies) that present themes for consideration, it is useful for searching and discovering companies and researchers with unique ideas and technologies necessary for innovation. On the other hand, for local companies, researchers, students, local residents, and others participating in the program, not only can they learn about some of the innovation efforts of major companies, but they can also learn about the innovation initiatives of major companies. There will be opportunities to turn existing technologies, research seeds, and problem recognition into new services and products and expand them nationwide.

TANOTECH Co., Ltd., which is co-sponsoring this event, has developed TANO, a non-contact, non-wearable training tool that incorporates motion sensors and gamification technology, and is providing it widely to welfare, nursing care, and educational settings in Japan and overseas. . By using motion sensors, your body becomes a controller, allowing you to enjoy training with over 300 types of exercise, vocalization, and brain activation programs without contact or wearing them. The exercise program incorporates physical movements suitable for rehabilitation under the supervision of physical therapy experts, and can be easily used by anyone regardless of age. “If you’re having fun, you’ll be moving your body before you know it.” That’s what makes TANO so special. In 2023, TANO was selected for the AMED (Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development) robot nursing care equipment development promotion project (development assistance). In this workshop, after experiencing TANO, participants were invited to come up with ideas for technologies and games that would enhance the value and functionality of TANO, or ideas for business models that could lead to its utilization in a wider range of fields. We will discuss this with all members. When considering ideas, we encourage participants to think freely and consider ways to combine their own knowledge and resources with TANO. We welcome a wide variety of people, including companies who want to create innovative services and products through collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, as well as university students, high school students, local residents, and local government officials who are interested in the topic. We look forward to your participation.
