Cambodian Handicraft Association
Since its establishment in 2000, the Cambodian Handicraft Association (abbreviation: CHA) has helped more than 400 women become independent* Our track record is that 70% to 80% of women who receive training at CHA find employment.
At CHA, more than 20 women with disabilities who were selected from local areas in cooperation with the government are currently enrolled, and women in their 20s to 40s are receiving vocational training, mainly sewing.
I am living my life* while learning various skills* necessary for social life*.
The main source of business income is the sale of handcrafted products created through clothing training at CHA, and other donations are used to maintain operations.

Existence crisis that occurred at CHA
CHA’s current base was used by paying rent to the landowner every month, but the landowner has decided to sell the land* and CHA hastily decided to move out by the end of this year.*
I had to.
Since a condominium will be built on the land where CHA was located, eviction is inevitable.
Initially, they were asked to leave by November, but representative Kim Ta negotiated with the landowner and managed to get an extension until the end of the year.
Representative Kim Ta decided to build a facility and consulted with a construction company and requested an estimate, which resulted in *68,000 USD*
I received an estimate that it would cost approximately 10 million yen.
He needs to start construction immediately in time for his eviction, which is approaching at the end of the year, so he decides to borrow money from friends and acquaintances to build a new facility for CHA. Relationship with the “Fly! Wheelchair” group
The “Fly! Wheelchair” group has sent more than 200 wheelchairs to Cambodia so far.
Our association first donated wheelchairs to CHA in 2012, and since then we have provided 32 wheelchairs over the past 10 years*. JICA grassroots support project
The JICA Grassroots Technical Support Project from 2022 to 2024 has been adopted, and our association will be holding *wheelchair maintenance workshops* in Cambodia.
The event was held five times, and CHA female trainees also participated. During our project in Cambodia, we also provided support for CHA’s operations, including technical support for creating a homepage and editing videos.Currently, a new homepage has been opened, and videos edited by the representative are being posted on the YouTube channel. now.

Request for support
CHA, a local NGO that supports women with disabilities in Cambodia, was suddenly forced to leave its base and is currently building a new facility.
The total cost of constructing the new facility has been determined to be US$68,000*.
Restarting from empty land
Construction cost estimate
This construction method, which is common in developing countries such as Cambodia, takes the form of *payments made in stages* depending on the location and progress of construction.
As of August 2024, CEO Kim Ta has borrowed US$20,000 from friends* The initial cost has been paid and construction is underway.
If payments are delayed in the future, *the construction will be stopped*, and CHA activities will be resumed with the facility in a half-finished state or with insufficient functionality.
The target amount was set at 200,000 yen (approximately 1,300 USD) at the start, which was completely insufficient for the final
construction cost of 68,000 USD, but when the target amount was reached, *
We plan to increase our goal* to ensure that as many donations as possible reach CHA.
Details are posted on the crowdfunding campaign site, so please check it out. We look forward to your continued support.
