“Customer feedback” from everyone who attended the event!
●It seems satisfying to be able to make your own chair. It looks like you’ll be able to sit on it with love. I would like to submit this as a summer vacation craft.
●I was worried that my 4-year-old would be able to do it, but my child also actively participated and had a lot of fun.
●We made a sturdy chair that parents and children could enjoy together! ●I would like to color it and use it as an independent study during my summer vacation.
●It was great to be able to use my fingertips and wrists a lot! ●I’m only 2 years old, but can I do it? I thought so, but I had a lot of fun fitting and assembling the parts (Heart)
●I’m glad that my child was satisfied.
●It was nice to be able to use a variety of trees.
●It was a valuable opportunity as I don’t have many opportunities to work with wood. I enjoyed the different colors and patterns of the 8 types of wood.
●The staff was kind and nice.
●Children also enjoyed it. Thank you for planning it!
* Thank you for your success! “Let’s play in the forest! Wood education special day! ”*
Atelier Eyes, a first-class architectural firm (located in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Hiroyasu Imai), held an event to commemorate its 20th anniversary on August 10th, “Let’s play in the forest!” Wood education special day! ” was a great success with many participants.
This event will focus on the fundamental elements of the environment, trees and forests, and social architecture, and the transition to entertainment, creation, and digital technology – connecting to the future through fun experiences*
Based on this concept, we have created a program with themes of wood education, entertainment, and IT technology.
It was a very valuable day as we looked back on the 20 years we have spent together with local people, aiming to contribute to the local community and realize a sustainable society, and at the same time, it was an important step in building a future that will last for the next generation.
*The venue is “GINZA FOREST”, a large complex designed by Atelier Eyes* (In front of the north exit of Mukogaoka Yuen Station)
We felt that holding the event in a large complex facility designed by our company was extremely meaningful as this “place” embodies our design philosophy. *GINZA
The entire FOREST becomes a space for local contribution and community, where many people gather and spend quality time, realizing the design intent*
I feel like I was treated like that. This was an attempt to provide the community with new value unique to Atelier Eyes, where the building and event become a unified “place.”
Programs on each floor – 1st floor: Balloon performance, 2nd floor: Main venue GINZA FOREST was awarded the Kawasaki City Excellent Architectural Designer Award, 10,000 square meters
A large complex facility exceeding
*The fusion of “wood education” and entertainment/IT technology, born from the attitude of architectural design*
Atelier Eyes’ architectural design goes beyond simply building buildings.* We aim to create “places” that touch people’s hearts, and pursue “communicative architecture.”*
The start of this anniversary event planning is to “review the potential of natural materials such as trees and forests, raise awareness of nature and the environment, and connect to gentle communication,” which is something we always keep in mind even in our daily architectural designs. It was at the core. From there, we devised a program that not only emphasizes the significance of interacting with trees through wood education, but also creates new value by integrating entertainment and the latest IT technology.* We worked on “the joy of new learning and the creation of communication”*. On the day of the event, we will have a variety of programs that can be enjoyed by a wide range of generations, including a wood education workshop, a wood education toy plaza, and a wooden QR experiment! We planned objects, a wood education music session with comedians, etc.
* Wood education workshop 1: “My own stool” made from domestic cypress* Domestic cypress stool
*Making a stool using Japanese cypress*
Then, participants created their own original stools while enjoying the scent and feel of wood. The participating children worked hard on the process of processing and shaping wood with their own hands, while also smiling with joy when they saw the completed stools.
This program was often attended by parents and children of preschool age children, allowing them to experience the joy of making things while sharing the warmth of wood.
* Wood education workshop 2.: Eight kinds of wooden rolling
instruments “Rule xylophone” *
A xylophone is a type of xylophone. In this workshop we will use * eight different types of wood *
I made a xylophone. Because the physical properties and hardness differ depending on the wood species, each type of wood produces a different tone. The participants proceeded with the production while enjoying the difference in sound. The children were able to feel the sounds of the trees, and were captivated by this program, which combines music and wood education, and all participants could be seen having fun together. *
It was a unique experience* where you could enjoy the charm of music and trees at the same time.
* Wood education workshop 3: Let’s make castanets! *
Create your own castanets and learn about the characteristics of wood through making musical instruments*
I learned. At this workshop, the children were captivated by the fun of creating things with their own hands and had lots of smiles on their faces. Family members also watched the event with smiles, and all participants felt a sense of unity.
* Wood education x entertainment x IT technology! A packed program! * *DIY experience corner*
Participants can experience the joy of woodworking by using their hands. Create a marble maze by driving nails into a wooden board. The eyes of the children (and adults) with the hammer in their hands are very serious. In addition, there are a wide variety of ways to choose and arrange nails, and each one’s individuality shines through! Also includes the “childish sound” of marbles hitting nails*
It seemed like a new experience* for the children.
* Wooden toy square *
* “Toys are art that humans encounter for the first time in their lives” * . This corner is open to children as young as 0 years old, so it is truly an event that can be enjoyed by all generations. We created an opportunity for children to become familiar with trees by playing freely with wooden toys. It was impressive to see the participants having a great time and interacting with each other across
generations.
* Wooden QR experiment! *
*An attempt to combine wood cultivation, which is a natural element, with new IT technology*
, a giant QR code object made from wooden pieces will be exhibited. The huge 70cm square QR code is a novel idea in which the black part is a black coating that takes advantage of the wood grain, and the white part is a cross-section of the wood.*
An object that expresses the creativity of Atelier Eyes. It was also a project that took a lot of effort from our company representative. Production cooperation was provided by local construction company Kaneko Construction. I’ve never made anything like this…The master used our company’s drawings and worked with Niramekko, and it was successfully completed!
And on the day…* The wooden QR code worked! *
When loaded on a smartphone, it links to an AR photo frame and allows you to take a photo with Ginza Forest’s character “Popomaru”. The effort to combine natural materials and digital technology has been a huge success.
Even after the event, this QR was moved to the 3rd floor of Ginza Forest and is on display.
*Drawing corner using Kitpass*
Kitpass manufactured by Nippon Rikagaku Kogyo. Nippon Rikagaku Kogyo is a company known in its hometown of Kawasaki for its advanced efforts to employ people with disabilities.
Kitpass is a crayon that can be easily erased with water even if you draw on wood, window glass, mirrors, whiteboards, bathroom walls, etc. A versatile writing instrument that comes in a wide variety of colors, produces vivid colors even when drawing on wood, and can also be used as drawing paper or watercolor paint. Therefore, we provided the children with kit passes and pieces of wood in various shapes. * They experienced the joy of drawing pictures on trees of various shapes using their own ideas*, and had a valuable time nurturing their creativity.
*Entertainment program*
On the day of the event, there was not only an educational aspect of wood education, but also a highly entertaining program. *
Balloon present & photo spot by balloon performer*
appeared, and the venue was filled with a lively atmosphere from beginning to end. The children had fun playing with colorful balloons, and everyone was smiling at the photo spot with images of the forest and Popomaru (Ginza Forest characters).
Katherine, a balloon performer active in her hometown of Kawasaki, creates forest-inspired balloon photo spots.
* Performances by various guests *
Adding color to the event was a show by comedians Magnum Kobayashi & Nodayuki. Their laughter enlivened the venue and made the time even more lively. The children laughed a lot and the show was enjoyed by all participants. *
The collaboration between a violin entertainer and an unconventional pianist* created a moment when the entire venue became one through the power of music.
Co-starring a violin entertainer and an unconventional pianist, and a performance by the Komatsu-ryu Shiki-kai, a wooden sword with ties to Kawasaki.
In addition, there will also be a dance performance by the wooden sword “Tamanto-ryu Shiki-kai”, which has ties to Kawasaki. Also shown. This dance is a mix of local tradition and culture. The powerful dance symbolized the strength and beauty of wood, and the children were fascinated by the force. At the end of the dance performance, there was a huge round of applause, and the participants shared a valuable experience of experiencing traditional techniques and local culture.
* A heartwarming session with a finale *
The event concluded with a session where the entertainers performed musical instruments and the children made instruments at the workshop. The sounds of Lure xylophones and castanets handmade by the children warmly echoed throughout the venue, and the venue was filled with laughter and cheers.
This session was a wonderful finale that both participants and speakers could enjoy together. The event was very well received, with many participants saying, “I wish there were more programs like this.” *
The finale, which fused the educational aspects of wood education with entertainment, was a memorable program that symbolized this event*.
The theme is * “* Wood education x Entertainment x IT technology * – Sharing fun experiences with the local community” *
The theme is “* Wood education x entertainment x IT technology – sharing fun experiences with the local community” *. In addition to the educational aspects of wood education, we also offer
entertainment, new technology, etc.*
We believe that incorporating various elements and embodying fusion and diversity will expand the “joy of learning” and “the joy of interacting with trees and the environment.”* *
Although it was an attempt at an advanced and original approach*, it turned out to be a program that everyone in attendance could enjoy, and the day was filled with smiles at the venue.
* The uniqueness of Atelier Eyes and towards a sustainable future * For our company’s 20th anniversary, we completely eliminated the traditional aspects of anniversaries that flaunt corporate authority, such as holding ceremonies and banquets. Aiming to break away from old values,*
We worked on it as an event to contribute to the community and give back to the community in preparation for a new era*. The theme of wood education x entertainment x IT technology is also different from the conventional *
It is intended to fuse “education,” which tends to be formal, with “playfulness” and “new ideas.”*
These are an extension of “Atelier Eyes’ unique architectural design philosophy, which strives to create places that touch people’s hearts.”
* “Architectural design that adds peace of mind” *
Atelier Eyes’ corporate philosophy and design concept.

In architectural design, we have aimed to create an architectural design that will lead to a sustainable society, emphasizing
coexistence with nature, with a sense of security and security in everyday life, and a sense of playfulness that colors the heart. This attitude led to the original approach of fusing wood education with entertainment and technology in “Let’s play in the forest! Wood education special day!”
In order to realize a sustainable society, the attitude of designing with roots in local communities will become increasingly important for the construction industry in the future. For the future of our children, we need to do more than just build new buildings.* What is required is a design attitude* that is in harmony with the thoughts, culture, climate, and local community behind this. As initiatives like this expand and the industry moves in the same direction, the future of architecture will be richer and more sustainable. We believe that future architectural design will be required to design a future where we can live together. We, Atelier Eyes, will continue*
We aim to create a “place” that touches people’s hearts, and pursue “communication architecture.”*
