Kohei Takahashi, a para-alpine skier who belongs to Comnico, will hold a lecture on Saturday, September 21st in his hometown of Yahaba-cho, Iwate Prefecture.

Kohei Takahashi, a para-alpine skier who belongs to Naoki), will hold a lecture titled “Because I Have a Disability” from 13:30 on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in his hometown of Yahaba-cho, Iwate Prefecture, where he was born and raised.
We will be holding an event titled “What I can say with confidence that I am who I am today”.
In this lecture, we will talk about Takahashi’s upbringing, the challenges he has faced with his cerebral palsy, what he has learned from recent tournaments and overseas expeditions, and his daily training, as well as his thoughts on the event, which is about a year and a half away. We will talk about his enthusiasm for participating in the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Paralympic Games, which is unique to a para-athlete competing in world championships. This is a free lecture with no advance registration required, so if you live nearby, please feel free to attend. Thank you very much for your continued warm support. It is because of everyone’s support that we have been able to continue this challenge. In this lecture, I would like to share with you the journey I have taken, and to give you some strength and hope in return. With gratitude in my heart, I will continue to put my whole heart and soul into the challenge of preparing for the 2026 Paralympic Games, so I ask for your continued support.

Born in October 2000, from Yahaba Town, Iwate Prefecture. Graduated from Nippon Sport Science University, Department of Physical Education, in March 2023. Due to the influence of his parents, he started skiing at the age of three. He has many wins in domestic competitions, including winning both the giant slalom and slalom at the 2020 Japan Para Alpine Ski Competition, and winning the Japan Para Alpine Ski Competition (slalom) for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. Participated in the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang and Beijing, and competed in the men’s slalom (standing) at the Beijing Games. He finished 12th, the highest finish among Japanese male athletes in the same competition. He has a functional disability on the right side of his body due to congenital cerebral palsy, and competes in the LW9-2 (standing) class.
