On Sunday, October 20, 2020, the 40th Takatsuki City Urban Greening Fair will be held at Yasuman Ruins Park in Takatsuki City, an event where you can experience the importance and splendor of flowers and greenery. There are many events that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, such as making flower baskets using seasonal flower seedlings, decorating public models with flowers, taking photos at photo spots, bingo tournaments, and dance performances.

The fair is held every year with the aim of deepening understanding of nature conservation activities and the importance of greenery by allowing visitors from children to adults to enjoy and experience the importance and splendor of flowers and greenery. This time, the 40th time, the theme was “Takatsuki, a town connected by greenery.” Flower artist Sachiko Kakihara’s performance “Flower Live” involved making flower baskets using seasonal flower seedlings and decorating models recruited from citizens with flowers. A performance show will be held (advance registration required for both). In addition, children can take photos at photo spots decorated with colorful flowers, have a bingo tournament where they can win flower pots and meal tickets to restaurants in Yasuman Ruins Park, sell flower seedlings, gardening supplies, and food and drinks, play fishing games, and make toys for children. There will also be plenty of fun events to participate in on the day, including booths for the public. On stage, the Osaka Prefectural Tsukinoki High School Dance Club, which won second place in the national competition, will perform a dance related to flowers.
