Anabuki Gakuen Educational Corporation|With the cooperation of local hospitals, we held a hospital tour for high school students aiming to work in the medical field in the future to learn more about the realities of medical practice.
*On July 23, 2020, the medical and rehabilitation vocational school operated by Anabuki Gakuen Educational Corporation (Nishiki-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, Chairman: Tadatsugu Anabuki) was established with the full cooperation of Kagawa Prefecture Saiseikai Hospital. , conducted for applicants from public high schools in the prefecture*
Visit the operating room, which you don’t usually get to see The event was sponsored by Anabuki Medical College and Anabuki Rehabilitation College, which have been working hard to develop local medical professionals for many years. The participants were third-year students from Kagawa Prefectural Marugame Josai High School and Zentsuji Daiichi High School, who were invited by their high schools to participate. I have been told by my high school teacher, “After seeing with my own eyes the medical field that you would not normally see at a general hospital where a wide variety of professionals work, I was able to understand that it was worthwhile and difficult, and that I realized the mismatch in my career path. In response to the request of “I want to eliminate this problem,” we were able to make this happen with the cooperation of Kagawa Prefecture Saiseikai Hospital (Tahikami-cho, Takamatsu City).
First, Dr. Hisao Wakabayashi, the hospital’s director, said, “What is important for aspiring to become a medical professional?” “The importance of team medical care, which involves many staff members working on a single patient, and is necessary to save a patient’s life.” I was told.
Afterwards, before going on a tour of the hospital, we watched a video explaining medical professions to understand the various professions.

Then, they tour medical facilities in each section, including actual operating rooms and examination rooms. We spoke with medical professionals working on the front lines to learn more about their work and their respective roles.
At the final individual consultation corner, we asked 15 types of medical staff (*) including nurses, dental hygienists, registered dietitians, and clinical laboratory technicians who work in the hospital about their work content, rigor, and reward.
*Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, orthoptists, medical radiology technicians, clinical engineers, clinical laboratory technicians, dental hygienists, registered dietitians, care workers, medical administration , medical office work assistant
In addition, the individual consultation corners of Anabuki Medical College, Anabuki Rehabilitation College, and Anabuki Pastry Chef Welfare College, which are the destinations for those who want to become professionals, offer advice on learning to get a job, national qualifications, practical training during the school period, and school life. I listened to the explanation.
A high school student said, “This was my first time touring a hospital, so I realized that I might want to do a job like this in the future.” Another participant said, “If you don’t work with care, each patient’s life will be at risk.” I was able to hear many positive comments regarding the future, such as, “I thought it was a very important job because it involved the future of the company.”
I hope that this tour will give high school students an interest in the medical field, and that by choosing a career in the medical profession, it will be a lifelong career that touches the lives of many people. I think so.
Anabuki Gakuen will continue to work on developing local human resources in cooperation with medical facilities and high schools.
