Fontworks adds 4 new weights to the popular font “Tsukushi Old Gothic”, increasing the weight to 6 weights

Hisahiro (hereafter Fontworks) added four new weights to the popular typeface “Tsukushi Old Gothic” on Thursday, September 5, 2024. * Tsukushi Old Gothic
“Tsukushi Old Gothic” 4 new weights added

This is a completely new typeface designed in 2014 with an image of the Gothic typeface that existed in the era of metal type.
The tight bosom of the kanji and kana characters, the free flow, and the rich intonation that gives the impression of the traces of the brush strokes convey the words with dignity.
The 4 weights newly added this time are * “R (Regular) / M (Medium) / D (Demi Bold) / E (Extra Bold)” *
. This is a family of 6 weights in total.
The newly added weights are easy to use in the main text, expanding the range of expression.
*Weight refers to the thickness of the font. For Tsukushi Old Gothic, the existing font “UL (Ultra Light)” is the thinnest, and the newly added font “E” is the thickest.
4 weights have been added to the existing weights UL (Ultra Light) and B (Bold) Tsukushi Old Gothic R (Regular)
Tsukushi Old Gothic M (medium)
It is the next thinnest font after “R”. This is the recommended font for the main text.

In 1998, he joined Fontworks Co., Ltd. and developed many typefaces. He created the Tsukushi typeface in 2004, and the Tsukushi typeface series won the Good Design Award in 2017.
