Hakone Gora Park, managed by Hidehiro Hidehiro, celebrated its 110th anniversary on August 20, 2024. Since its opening in the Taisho era, Hakone Gora Park has become a symbol of Gora.
We are holding a year-long event titled “110th Anniversary Campaign”.
In the fourth installment, the “Autumn Rose Garden Concert” will be held at the music hall on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from October 5th to November 10th, coinciding with the blooming of the autumn roses in the rose garden in the park. You can enjoy live music such as piano and flute along with autumn roses. Additionally, on October 20th, for the first time in six years, artists from Odawara’s welfare center “Art de Vivre” will perform live painting, adding new color to the park.
Furthermore, the souvenir shop will be selling a new product, “Rose Cookies,” to commemorate the park’s 110th anniversary. The original packaging is inspired by the park’s rose garden, which is in full bloom in spring and fall, making it the perfect souvenir. In addition, the sandwich restaurant “Isshikido Sarou” in the park will be offering a variety of limited-time sweets that will let you enjoy the flavors of autumn.

More than that
* Hakone Gora Park *
It is Japan’s first French-style formal garden, opened in 1914 in Gora, the terminal station of the Hakone Tozan Railway. A French-style formal garden is characterized by a symmetrical and geometric arrangement of fountains and ponds on a large, flat site, but Gora Park is built on a slope. At that time, it was planned in conjunction with the development of the Gora area, and has been enjoyed by many residents of villas and users of the Hakone Tozan Railway, which opened five years after the park opened.
Today, the open park surrounded by the wide sky and mountains remains the same as in the past, and in 2004, the experience workshop “Hakone Craft House” and later the sandwich restaurant “Isshikido Sarou” opened, and various activities are held throughout the day. The appeal is that you can enjoy the experience.
