ISO56001 publication commemorative event held on October 25th *ISO56001, the certification standard for innovation management systems, was published on September 10th! *
On September 10, 2024, a new era in innovation management began with the publication of ISO56001.
ISO56001 is a certification standard of the international standard ISO56000 series for innovation management systems (IMS), and has been added to the already published ISO56000 (basics and terminology), ISO56002 (guidance standard), etc. (See below for an overview of the ISO56000 series. reference). From 2021, over 70 countries and international organizations*
ISO 56001, which was published after approximately four years of deliberation and which was participated in the negotiations, clarifies the requirements for organizational and systematic innovation activities, and will become an important framework for collaboration between global organizations.
With the publication of ISO56001, a common language for innovation management has been established, and it can be said that the foundation for international collaboration and evaluation regarding innovation has been established. In addition, it can be said that the new common sense in corporate management is changing from the conventional management centered on quality to “innovation management” in which creative activities are carried out while ensuring quality.
Organizations that obtain this certification will be recognized externally as organizations that understand the internationally agreed framework for organizational innovation activities and have advanced visualization and systematization of innovation management. It is also expected to improve evaluations from customers. In turn, this can strengthen an organization’s international competitiveness and enable sustainable growth.
Japan Innovation General Incorporated Association
Network (JIN) has been supporting the acceleration of innovation by Japanese companies since 2013, with the aim of making Japan an innovation nation. As the only domestic deliberation organization in Japan, JIN participates in the deliberations of the ISO56000 series that the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been promoting since 2013, and also operates the domestic deliberation committee and agrees with the committee. We have contributed to the formation of each standard in the ISO 56000 series by engaging in international negotiations as a representative of Japan with the proposed proposals.
The publication of ISO56001 is an important milestone in achieving our mission of making Japan an innovative nation. In response to this, we will hold an event to commemorate the publication of ISO56001 as follows.
