■Spearhead match: 〇 Kawano (Akuma) (Classic) vs. Otani (Ken) (Classic) × “Kawano” showed excellent control of the match by maneuvering in the center of the screen to prevent Ken from playing at the edge of the screen, which “Otani” is good at, and took the lead in the first battle. In the second BATTLE that follows, “Kawano” uses Akuma’s foot speed to gain an advantage in the match. On the other hand, “Otani” also steadily caused damage when he caught his opponent, and even though he regained the second battle, he was unable to break “Kawano” throughout the match. The battle came to an end when Kawano’s Oboro, which had been warmed up until the very end, exploded to the finish. “Kawano” won by showing off his amazing competitive strength and ability to draw out a lot of things.
■Medium match: × Gachi-kun (Rashid) (classic) vs KEI.B (Vega) (classic) 〇 A showdown between “KEI.B” using Vega, which is said to have an advantage in fighting, against Rashid used by “Gachi-kun”. From the beginning, “Gachi-kun” played well and cornered his opponent to the edge of the screen, but “KEI.B” made a brilliant comeback and the match continued to show a reversal. In addition, “KEI.B” won at every turn, using Vega’s “Shadow Rise” to lure out the opponent’s “Drive Parry” and then using the Punish Counter to land a “Normal Throw.” He gained 10 valuable points in the ranking battle. ■General match: 〇 Pugera (Vega) (Classic) vs Mocchi (Akuma) (Classic) × Against “Pugera player” who is waiting at Vega, “Nagoya NTPOJA” exceeded everyone’s expectations, and “Mocchi player” participated in the general battle. From the start, it was Pugera who overwhelmed his opponent with his superb distance management and ground combat, and quickly won the first battle without giving Motchi a chance. After that, “Pugera” continued to build up the match at his own pace, not allowing him to create clear chances. In the end, he KOs “Mocchi” with his specialty, Super Arts Lv. 3 “Unlimited Psycho Crusher”, which allows him to escape after seeing the opponent’s bullets. He showed off his typical play as a Pugera player and won the match in straight sets.
Good 8 Squad, who earned 30 points despite being on the away side, maintained their lead in the points rankings. After the fourth round, they have already earned 120 points, and it will be interesting to see how far their progress continues.
[Post-match interview with Gachi-kun]
Q1.: With today’s victory, you are now in first place in the point rankings. Please tell us how you feel now.
Gachi-kun: I don’t think there will be as much benefit this season, even if we come in first in the regular season. In past seasons, if we finished in first place, there would be about a month until the grand final, so we would do everything we could to get there, but this year, even if we finish in first place, there will be a playoff, so the schedule will be the same as any other. So, I feel like I shouldn’t be too focused on first place, and just put it in the top three. I’m relatively relaxed about that.
Q2.: The team seems to be doing quite well at the moment. Is there any reason why they are doing so well?
Gachikun: The best thing is that everyone on the team is strong. Everyone is strong and everyone comes prepared. However, I lost a bit today, so I’d like to be able to get points from next time onwards. I want to do my best.
Q3.: How do you practice and exchange information on a regular basis to maintain a strong team?
Gachi-kun: We usually talk on the phone and share strategies, and we also make strategies like, “Maybe this person will come next time?” Also, I’m having a good time practicing with people from other teams, especially young players who aren’t playing in the league. In that sense, I get a lot of inspiration from players who aren’t in the league, and I think that keeps me motivated.
Q4.: Since today is the match against Vega, do you often work with “Pugera” to deal with Vega?
Gachi-kun: I play with Yu-kun (Pugera), and then I play against other people. Since we’re on the same team, of course I ask for help, but I also have to try other combinations, so I often work with players other than Yu-kun (Pugera).
Q5.: Since you are currently in 1st place alone, it is expected that other teams will mark you more strongly. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Gachikun: Especially today, I felt like I was able to read people well and take advantage of the home team. In fact, the parts that people read today are the ones where I’ve always thought to myself, “Maybe this will be countered,” so I’m trying to get rid of those kinds of tricks. I think I would like to. I think it would be good if we could have more flexible thinking, like consciously changing things like that, or even taking advantage of them.
Q6.: Lastly, please tell us your enthusiasm for the next chapter. Gachi-kun: We’ve been winning pretty well so far, so I think we’ll be able to convey to everyone, “This is Good 8 Squad!” We want to show strong Gupachi not only this year, but next year and the year after, so please continue to support us.
MATCH2: [AWAY] Shinobiism Gaming vs Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto [HOME]

■Spearhead match: 〇 Yamaguchi (Ed) (Classic) vs Umehara (Akuma) (Classic) × It was a battle between both sides, with the one who created chances first winning the round. A slow battle ensued, with each side wary of the other’s movements. “Umehara” launched a surprise attack using Akuma’s “Hyakki Attack” at a key point, but “Yamaguchi” responded with an “anti-air attack” and was able to counter the attack perfectly. Ta. After that, “Yamaguchi” remained patient and bounced off the opponent’s attacks with his stance, and was happy to grab his first victory of the season.
■Medium match: × Johnny (Marisa) (classic) vs. Nemo (Blanca) (classic) 〇 From the beginning, there were many situations in which Johnny was able to outperform Nemo defensively, using just parries and
interrupting with weak attacks. “Johnny” cornered his opponent to the edge of the screen, but he was unable to take him one step further. Overall, it looked like Johnny was pushing the match a little too hard, but when it came time for the match, Nemo took the lead and won. In the end, “Nemo” scored a PERFECT K.O. and won the middle-ranked match in straight sets.
■General match: 〇 Momochi (Ed) (Classic) vs Fuudo (Ed) (Classic) × The general match was a mirror match between “Food”, who also uses Ed, against “Momochi”‘s Ed. Viewers’ attention was drawn to the showdown between rivals of the same generation, and moreover, those using the same characters. In Ed’s mirror match, where long-distance tactics are the key, both players use “Psycho Flicker” and “Kill Step” feints, but it was Momochi who took control of the pace first. . “Momochi” calmly attacked “Food” who was in a burnout state by actively using the “drive gauge”. This was the deciding factor in the match, and Momochi won the match with a score of 3-1.
Thanks to the efforts of the master and student duo of Yamaguchi and Momochi, Shinobiism Gaming earned a valuable 30 points.
The team is fully prepared to advance further to the top.
[Post-match interview with Yamaguchi]
Q1.: First of all, please tell us your impressions of your first win of the season.
Yamaguchi: I didn’t have much confidence because I had been losing consecutively. I’ve always wanted to get one win no matter what, so I’m really happy that I was able to beat Umehara this time. I think this was a pretty big win for the future.
Q2.: Last year I got the impression that you were doing well by leading the team, but how did you feel going into this season? Yamaguchi: Looking at the results, I think I won quite a bit last year, but personally I felt that I was able to keep winning even though my luck was turning in my favor. Therefore, I thought that if the trend did not go in our direction, there was a possibility that we would end up with no wins at all this year. Although I hoped to win as much as last year this year, I also thought that things wouldn’t go as well as they did last year, so I approached the match with the mindset of trying to do my best in the match in front of me.
Q3.: There was a bit of a tough period, but with today’s victory, we are now in 4th place in the rankings, 5 points behind 3rd place. Please give me your honest opinion.
Yamaguchi: I think each player on our team has a very high level of ability. I think we have the ability to aim for the championship based on our overall strength, but last year and the year before, we had a frustrating time not being able to advance to the grand final. I think this year, if everyone on the team stays in top shape, we can aim for the championship. My teammates and I have been talking about wanting to be among the top three teams in the regular season, and I hope we can finish in first place.
Q4.: I believe that “Shinism Gaming” has the same members and a strong bond, but please tell us about the current atmosphere of the team. Yamaguchi: The team atmosphere is quite good. However, I think the team as a whole is not yet complete and is still in the growth stage. “Momochi” and “Fujimura” are doing well to score points and hold on, so I think if everyone keeps improving, we’ll be a team that can win even more. I think we practice together as a team and practice with a positive mindset every day, without looking backwards. Q5.: Please tell us your impression of “Yamaguchi” regarding the Ed vs. Akuma pairing that is often seen this season.
Yamaguchi: Personally, I think it’s such a difficult combination that I can’t say who has an advantage or disadvantage yet. This is because both Ed and Akuma have a wide range of movement, and they are also quite difficult characters. I have a feeling that the strategy content will change rapidly from now on, and the content of the matches will probably change as well.
Q6.: Lastly, please tell us your enthusiasm for the next chapter. Yamaguchi: Personally, I’m pretty happy with this first win, and I hope I can keep things going from here. I want to do my best, so I appreciate your continued support.
MACTH3: [AWAY] FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN vs DetonatioN FocusMe [HOME]
d13450-4581-48de808d0a604b39322f-2.jpg&s3=13450-4581-7a3d47d2a8cc1f443dfe84dd46235128-1920x1080.jpg
■Spearhead match: 〇 Yanai (Vega) (classic) vs Nauman (Ken) (classic) × In the early stages of the vanguard battle, Nauman’s attacks landed well and he took the lead in physical strength, but Yanai recovered the damage with exquisite jump attacks and aggressive normal throws and succeeded in turning things around. “Yanai” gained momentum in the first BATTLE, and in the second BATTLE, he overwhelmed his opponent by displaying a spectacular “air-to-air” technique and controlling the battle positions. He won 2-0 in straight sets, marking his first win of the season.
■Medium battle: × Sasamo (Ed) (classic) vs Machabo (Akuma) (classic) 〇 Immediately after the opening match, “Machaboo” launched aggressive attacks using “drive impact” and “invincible techniques”. As if to counter this, “Sasamo” also launched a strong attack, and a fierce clash of wills ensued between the two players. At the end of the mid-range battle, where each player took one BATTLE at a time, leading to the final BATTLE, “Machaboo” pushed his opponent to the edge of the screen, using an attack that could be described as the “optimal solution” to overwhelm them, and it was a decisive battle. “Machaboo” won 2-1.
■General match: 〇 Sho (Vega) (Classic) vs Itabashi Zangief (Zangief) (Classic) × “Sho” competed as Vega instead of the Akuma he had been using up until now, while “Itabashi Zangief” competed as his long-time partner Zangief. The major battle, which is important in predicting the future of the season, was a showdown between the leaders of both teams. From the start, “Sho” developed a solid ground battle and attacks from the air, and took control of the match with a fighting style that took advantage of Vega’s strengths. “Itabashi Zangief” also aggressively launched the “Screw Piledriver” and attempted to read each other, but he was unable to regain the momentum that had once tilted towards “Sho.” As the match progressed, “Sho” honed his distance management and accuracy in “returning” and took complete control of the match, taking home 20 points for his team with an overwhelming straight-set victory.
With this victory, “FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN” rises to 2nd place in the ranking. All eyes will be on the battle for first place in the next round, whether it is possible or not.
[Post-match interview with Yanai]
Q1.: Congratulations to the team and Yanai for his first win of the season. Please give me your honest opinion.
Yanai: Until now, “FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN” has been consistently earning points, and this time I was finally able to win. I’m really happy because it feels like the whole team is winning.
Q2.: It has been a long time since Yanai personally participated in the SF League, but please tell us your impressions.
Yanai: When I first competed (2021), I didn’t have much experience participating in big tournaments, so I was extremely nervous going into it. Of course I’m nervous about competing this time, but since I’m participating with good friends who I used to practice with, even though they’re not affiliated with the SF League, I’m feeling pretty good about competing. I’m also getting used to the tournament. Q3.: What are the reactions of the people of FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN’s hometown of Iizaka Onsen in Fukushima, their families, etc. to the team and Yanai’s success?
Yanai: At restaurants, hot spring facilities, and the FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN game facility, I’ve heard people say, “I’m watching!” and I feel that a lot of people know about us. I’m really happy.
My family seems to watch it every time, and when I went back home the other day, all my family and relatives were there, and they said, “It’s amazing that so many different people are watching it!” I received it.
Q4.: Please tell us your enthusiasm for the next match and the rest of the season.
Yanai: The team called “FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN” is constantly evolving, or rather, everyone is getting better and better with each match, so we want to keep doing our best and aim for the championship. Standings (as of the end of Division S Round 4)
