Standing bar event “Kamezaki Station Next Bar” will be held! *Have a drink at the historic wooden station building♪*
This time, Kamezaki Kamos Co., Ltd. will collaborate with the Central Japan Railway Company (hereinafter referred to as “JR Tokai”) to hold a standing bar event “Kamezaki Station Next Bar” at JR Kamezaki Station! A feast of Shikishima, which has been revived at Kamezaki Station, a historic wooden station building, and Kamezaki. In addition to the usual Japanese sake “Shikishima”, we also offer cocktails that take advantage of the strength of Shikishima’s alcohol quality. Please stop by for a drink while waiting for the train or for a relaxing drink before heading home!
1. Background of the event
Ito Goshi Kaisha, the sake brewery behind the Japanese sake
“Shikishima”, closed down in 2000 due to a slump in demand for sake, ending a 212-year history dating back to the Edo period. However, the current 9th generation owner decided to revive the sake brewery after the death of his grandfather, the 7th generation, and established Ito Co., Ltd. In 2021, we will build a new factory and resume
manufacturing in Shikishima. Additionally, in January of this year, we opened a complex called Ito Goshi (operated by Kamezaki Kamos), which utilizes a group of buildings, including a former sake brewery that has been registered as a cultural property. This time, we heard from JR Tokai about their efforts to revitalize the region, and by utilizing the vacant space at Kamezaki Station, which serves as the gateway to the region, we were able to realize this project.

The Taketoyo Line is a very historic line that opened in 1896. Among them, Kamezaki Station Building is said to be “Japan’s oldest active station building” and is an important building when talking about the history and culture of the Chita Peninsula. It is a great honor to be able to hold a project like this in that building, and I personally am very happy as well. The Chita Peninsula, where the Taketoyo Line is located, is a brewing peninsula, and is also a region filled with delicious things such as livestock, fishing, and agriculture. Why not enjoy the charm of the history and culture of Chita and Kamezaki while feeling the quaint atmosphere? We look forward to your visit.
