Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Atsushi Enomoto, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is an
inverter-equipped turbo chiller “ETI-Z series” that uses a low GWP (* 1) refrigerant with extremely low environmental impact. Received the Minister of the Environment Award for Global Warming Prevention Activity sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment (22nd). The award ceremony was held on December 2 in the “Technology Development and Commercialization Division” of the same award, which was highly evaluated for the “Dissemination of the ETI-Z Series of
high-efficiency turbo chillers using low GWP refrigerant”. It was opened in This is the third time this year that the ETI-Z series has received awards for technologies that contribute to global
environmental conservation and energy conservation.
The ETI-Z series uses HFO-1233zd (E) refrigerant with a global warming potential GWP of 1 (same as CO2) and zero ozone depletion coefficient. It was put on the market as a turbo refrigerator that uses Rated COP (Note 2) is 6.3, and partial load performance index IPLV (Note 3) is 9.1, which is the highest level in its class. When renewed, power consumption and CO2 emissions can be reduced by about 60% annually. On the other hand, the aerodynamic shape of the compressor and the structure of the heat exchanger have been devised to reduce the installation area and save space, making it possible to smoothly update from previous products. .
In addition to excellent environmental and energy-saving and space-saving features, it is also useful as a heat pump that supplies hot water, and is suitable for low-temperature heating process equipment applications such as food and beverage factories. . We have a track record of delivery to Singapore overseas as well, and it is expected that the introduction of turbo chillers using low-GWP refrigerant will continue in the future.
This Minister of Environment commendation system is intended for individuals, organizations, etc. (including schools) that have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in preventing global warming. In addition to the technology development and
commercialization departments, the department consists of advanced countermeasure technology introduction departments, countermeasure activity implementation and dissemination departments, environmental education activities departments, and international contribution departments. In the technology development and commercialization division, the project review was based on the concept of “L2-Tech (Leading and Low-carbon Technology)”, which means the leading low-carbon technology launched by the Minister of the Environment in March 2014. The four models of the ETI-Z series are 2018 L2-Tech certified products.
MHI Thermal Systems is encouraging this award to work on the development of technologies and products that help further save energy, and to meet the diverse needs of customers with integrated technology based on synergies that make the most of its distinctive cooling business area We will contribute to environmental conservation through the realization of optimal thermal solutions.
(Note 1) GWP stands for Global Warming Potential. A global warming potential with CO2 of 1. The smaller the value, the lower the greenhouse effect and the better the environment.
(Note 2) COP stands for Coefficient of Performance. The coefficient of performance. The larger the value, the better the energy saving. Calculated based on JIS standards. COP = rated refrigeration capacity (kW) ÷ power consumption (kW). Auxiliary power is included.
(Note 3) IPLV is an abbreviation for Integrated Part Load Value. This is a coefficient of performance that takes into account load fluctuations throughout the year. By examining both COP and IPLV based on rated performance, it helps to improve the accuracy of performance evaluation according to usage.
