International cooperation NGO “Japan International Volunteer Center (JVC)” Cambodian business / Local representative Omura purchased “cricket cookies” in Cambodia when he returned home temporarily, and it is very popular in various places! (In Cambodia, crickets and other insect foods are popular.)
That’s why on the evening of December 10 (Tuesday), we invited Dr. Shoichi Uchiyama, the great palace of insect cooking research, to ask about the story of delicious insects, and together with them, we challenged insect food for a while! I would like to have an
opportunity to do this. I was planning to make an event limited to “people who eat insects for the first time”, but since the date is approaching, experienced people who love insect food are also welcome. Please join us.
■ Menu plan (subject to change)
・ Delicious cricket paste (with French bread or crackers)
・ Your favorite topping (roasted crickets, fried bee chick butter, boiled locust)
Tonosama grasshopper or swallowtail tea
We also sell Cambodian cricket cookies (cocoa taste), honey from the mountain called Holy Land, and Uchiyama-sensei’s books (signed). * The amount excluding the cost of this event will be allocated to the pond excavation cost for Cambodia business, courtesy of Prof. Uchiyama and Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd.
