People’s China Magazine held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Manga China Project on Friday, November 1, 2019 in Nanjing. 2nd Manga China Project Main Visual
The Manga China Project invites prominent creators from around the world to China and asks them to create comics, illustrations and other works from their own perspectives while feeling the charm of each region in China. This project was designed to communicate the charm of In May this year, the first event was held in Nanjing. This is my first visit to Nanjing, but Nanjing is a cultural city where ancient and modern are fused and tradition and cutting-edge trends coexist. I was inspired by various creative ideas while walking in the city of Nanjing, and I look forward to promoting exchange between China and Japan through culture. ”

During the opening ceremony, manga artist Wang Ning who participated in the 1st Manga China Project introduced works created through the previous project. The unique viewpoints of each creator, vivid brushwork, and the delicate stories embedded in the work attracted the attention of general visitors gathered in the old gate area. “Organic passport” written as “Manga China Creative City Special Artist” was handed over to the guest creators by the organizer, Nanjing City Vice President of Nanjing City, China. Through the presentation of urban passports, Nanjing City has developed in collaboration with global creators, and appealed that it wants to jointly launch the Manga China Project.
