At the Shimane Prefectural Iwami Museum of Art, a collection exhibition “Kunya School-Inheriting Snow Boat” is being held. [Exhibition Outline]
1. Purpose of the event
The “Kumaya School” is a school of painters active mainly in the West Japan region from the Momoyama period to the Edo period. The first generation, Yutani Kumoya, named himself the righteous successor of Yukifune, based on the fact that Terumoto Mohri gave him Yukifune “Sansui Nagamaki” and the former residence of Yukifune, “Kunya Kun”. After the face-to-face, the style that imitates the snow boat was handed down from generation to generation through equal benefits and equality.
This exhibition introduces a total of 7 works, 4 folding screens and 3 hanging scrolls from our collection.
