This survey was conducted in conjunction with the September 2019 Survey of TDB Economic Trends. * The survey period is from September 13 to 30, 2019. The survey target is 23,696 companies nationwide, and the number of valid response companies is 9,901 (response rate 41.8%). This is the third survey on overseas expansion, following May 2012 and September 2014. Survey results (summary) 1. In terms of overseas expansion, 24.7% of companies have expanded overseas either directly or indirectly. Overseas expansion status (multiple answers) 2. “Business partner” (38.0%) is the top partner (multiple answers) for consulting when expanding overseas. This is followed by “public support organizations” (29.0%), “main bank” (26.0%), “local companies” (16.6%), and “local Japanese companies” (15.5%). 3. As a place of advance, “China” has become the most important country for both production and sales. In each of the top 10 countries / regions, all Asian countries / regions are lined up except for “America” 4. “Securing in-house human resources (Japanese)” was the highest at 45.2% (multiple answers).
