Every year on August 16th, the dance is dedicated to Niikura-machi Osuka Shrine on the annual festival day. Four groups in the city (Numata-cho Chinkonkan Dance, Kosaka Chinkonkan Dance, Sogo-cho Taiko Dance, Yatsuko Chikokan Dance) that inherit the traditions from several hundred years ago are dedicated to dancing. It is impressive that a large demon with a red costume and a demon face with a small demon bow and a small demon with a six-cage stick dance powerfully to a large drum, small drum, and koto. The origin of “Chinkonkan” is thought to be the onomatopoeia of koto and taiko. It is a precious Mihara festival that has been designated as an intangible folk cultural asset by Hiroshima Prefecture (Numata-cho Chinkonkan Dance), Mihara City Intangible Folk Cultural Property (Kosaka Chinkonkan Dance, Sogocho Taiko Dance, Yatsushiko Chikokan Dance) . Please have a look.
