Tokyo Metropolitan Government Begins Recruitment for “Tokyo Sasa Ale Residential Landlord Support Project”
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched the “Tokyo Sasa Ale Residential Landlord Support Project” to encourage the registration of exclusive housing units for individuals requiring special consideration in securing housing. The initiative aims to provide 3,500 Tokyo Sasa Ale Housing units, or safety net housing, by the end of 2030.
Starting in 2025, the project will offer a comprehensive subsidy package to support landlords in registering dedicated housing. This package includes subsidies for earthquake retrofitting and other necessary improvements, even for properties with inadequate seismic resistance.
Application Details
- Application Period: Starting from Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Applications will be accepted until the allocated budget is reached.
- Eligible Participants:
- Landlords (owners of private rental housing or registered business operators)
- Tenants of exclusive housing can also benefit from certain subsidy programs.
- Main Requirements:
- New registration of exclusive housing units.
- Maintain registration as a private residence for a minimum of 10 years.
- All subsidy project contracts must be signed after the subsidy grant decision has been made.
